If you’re a person who is in the middle of a treatment program, it can be important to know when to let go and when to stay in the program. Some people do very well on their own, but for others dealing with addiction can be a challenge.
My friend Andrew, a recovering heroin addict, tells me that he’s very happy to let go of his addiction. He’s a good dad, has a loving wife, and is a part-time high school teacher. The best part is that Andrew is doing it in his free time and doesn’t have to be on any medication.
The more I think about it, the more I wish we had some free time where we could be there for our own little fun. Instead, I’d like to think that what we’d want to do instead of just sitting around waiting for the sun to rise in the morning is to sit back and watch the sunset and take in the ocean.
The point is, we’ve become addicted to the idea of doing things to get high or have fun. We’re addicted to the euphoric rush we get from getting high, and we’re addicted to the feeling of not having to think about anything in the moment. So, we’d like to take some of the pressure off of ourselves and have some fun.
Id like to think that what wed want to do instead of just sitting around waiting for the sun to rise in the morning is to sit back and watch the sunset and take in the ocean.
You could say that a lot of people who are addicted to drugs are looking to change. Or that people who are addicted to drugs are looking for an escape, an escape from the real world, and that drug addiction is just part of that effort to find that.
The reality of addiction is that many people who are addicted to drugs will go on these journeys to get away from it. It’s not that they want to be free from it, it’s more like they want to be away from their family and their work. What they don’t realize is that these journeys aren’t all that they’re looking for. They’re actually looking for something more, and that’s why they need drugs to be able to do it.
The drug trip is just a stepping stone. Once you finish your journey to get away from your drug addiction, the drug trip will just be that little bit more. It takes a long time to get there, but once you get there it’s all you. The drug is just a tool to help you get there.
Drug addiction can be an extremely isolating thing. Most people do not want to be around people anymore and certainly not friends. It can make it hard to make friends because you often find that you dont really understand one another. The drug is just that little bit more that helps you get to know yourself better. It takes a long time to get there, but once you get there its all you. It is the little bit more that helps you get to know yourself better.
It is the journey that you take.
