We’ve known the PS4 for a long time now, but it was the holidays that really brought me (and other members of the PS4 staff) into the PS4 community. The holidays were also my last chance to preorder the device and get a bunch of games I’ve been dying to get for months, including some of the most popular games of the year like Uncharted 4 and Assassin’s Creed IV.
So I was quite excited when Sony announced that it would be pre-ordering the system, but I was a little disappointed when they wouldn’t be pre-ordering any games at all. In my view, pre-ordering games is like pre-ordering food. You’re supposed to want to buy all the food, but unless you’re really good at shopping, you’ll end up with a boring, bland meal made with junk food ingredients.
Well, to quote the great Harry Potter, “The best is yet to come”. The PS4 is a system that is still in the very early stages of development, and Sony is always a step ahead of the competition. And so, while I’m sure the company will continue to make great games, I doubt they’ll be as fantastic as the ones made in the past.
I can understand why Sony is working on a new kind of media console. It is the most advanced gaming console that has ever been made. It is the most powerful console ever made, and is a beast. It is not made by Sony, but by Sony’s competitors.
